The best way for me to describe LASIK surgery is 'unbelievable'. My mother calls it a miracle. And, in a way, it is. After 28 years of glasses (since I was 7 years old) and 20 years of contacts (since I was 14 years old), I can now wake up in the morning and see everything! The surgery was painless. It only lasted about 10 minutes. Ihad the surgery on Friday and was driving that weekend with 20/20 vision (left eye) and 20/25 vision (right eye). There is a large 'E' on the eye chart! To anybody that is contemplating this surgery: wait no more! I highly recommend it. This was the best gift I have given myself. The list is endless about all the things that are easier in my life since the LASIK procedure. I can't wait to visit the beach and go swimming without guessing where my beach chair is. I will finally be able to see the chair from the water! Thank you to everybody involved in the surgery. Special thanks to Regina Boess-Lott (for all that you do), Dr. Paul Pascarella (for his enthusiasm and encouragement), and Dr. Barry Concool (of course!).

It has been almost six months since I had LASIK surgery and I am still experiencing positive changes in my everyday life, that did not exist when wearing contact lenses or glasses. It is absolutely amazing to be able to see and function without the need for corrective lenses. I have worn glasses since I was a child. When I became a young teenager I decided to try contacts, but after wearing them for several years I developed a corneal ulcer. After that, contact lenses never seemed to be comfortable in my eyes, so I went back to wearing glasses. When the opportunity arose to have LASIK surgery it was like a dream come true. Without glasses, I could not see more than twelve inches in front of my face. My lenses were very thick and heavy, making my eyes look like tiny dots. The idea of being rid of glasses and still be able to see really caught my attention. After learning more about the procedure through a very informative and thorough consultation with my ophthalmologist, I decided that LASIK would be the perfect solution. I am a father of three, and to be able to interact with my kids without worrying about breaking my glasses is a big relief. We are a very active family. We are always visiting amusement parks and water parks and now I can actually enjoy the rides because I can see. I used to have to take my glasses off so I didn't lose them. My youngest child is only eighteen months old. He sleeps in a crib in my bedroom. Now, if he wakes up crying in the middle of the night, I can see him in the crib and attend to his needs quicker without wasting time fumbling for my glasses. LASIK surgery has really made my life easier. It is a quick, yet accurate procedure and is totally pain-free.Having the surgery was one of the best decisions I ever made. I would recommend LASIK to anyone dependent on glasses or contact lenses. You'll be able to do things you couldn't do before and literally see the world through different eyes!

I am writing this letter to share with you my recent experience. I had LASIK surgery on July 9, 1998.Prior to my LASIK surgery, I had many questions and concerns. Dr. Concool took the time to sit down with me and answer all of my questions. The surgery was easier than I ever anticipated. During the surgery, Dr. Concool made me feel very much at ease. When I was finished and sat up, I was astounded that I could read the time on the clock on the wall. LASIK surgery has made things look like a whole new world through my eyes. It means so much to be able to see in the middle of the night, or to be able to read the numbers on my alarm clock first thing in the morning. I am an avid golfer and prior to my LASIK surgery, I always had the problem of glasses sliding down my nose or my contacts drying out due to the natural environment. Now, I don't have that problem anymore. In closing, I would like everyone to know that having LASIK surgery was the best decision I ever made!

I had been wearing glasses since I was five years old, contact lenses (both hard and soft), for the past twenty years. I had researched corrective surgery in its various forms for over eight years. LASIK was the first procedure I felt comfortable enough to actually proceed with. I had surgery done on February 19th. What a change in my life it has made! I went from having a hard time seeing where I put my glasses to seeing 20/20 the next day. The procedure itself was painless, the recovery immediate, and the results fantastic. I went to Jackson Hole, Wyoming one month after the procedure. The improvement in my vision really became apparent on that trip. I was able to see colors, details and wildlife I know I would have missed before. Thank you for making such a wonderful difference in my life.

I would like to thank Dr.Concool, Dr.Pascarella, and their staff for my newly found freedom. I travel a lot and am no longer burdened with carrying solutions and extra lenses. I work in cardiac surgery and my vision is perfect to assist in this delicate work. The biggest change for me is that I no longer have to fear that I will not be able to see something at a critical moment. LASIK is here, now, and most of all, terrific! Again, many thanks!

About a year ago, I had the LASIK procedure to treat nearsightedness. Before the operation, I was dependent on glasses or contacts for my vision. I became intolerant of contact lenses and I really liked wearing glasses from the onset. The LASIK procedure had really changed my life. I can see better than I have ever seen in my entire life these results occurred almost immediately after the procedure was over. The procedure was completely painless and surprisingly quite easy from a patient's perspective. Following the surgery, my vision has really been excellent. I have the freedom to do sporting activities without worrying about contact lenses or glasses. My night vision is excellent as well. Since my procedure, my visual acuity has remained better than perfect.
I am extremely pleased with the results from the LASIK procedure and would recommend it to anyone who is a good candidate for the surgery. The procedure was painless and the results were phenomenal.

Laser vision consultant for LASIK Freedom East
As a laser vision consultant, I understood the importance of experience when choosing a center and a surgeon. I wanted the best possible outcome. No only are the surgeons among the best in the country, but the technical staff's training is continually updated. I had an excellent result and the freedom contact lenses and glasses is a thrill I experience every day! When I had the opportunity to join the staff of LFE, I knew I would be working with the best.

I was somewhat skeptical about the success of LASIK surgery, but after having underwent the surgery in October, I would highly recommend the procedure. For someone who has been forced with living with the day-to-day rigors of glasses and contact lenses, LASIK surgery is like being reborn with 20/20 vision or vision very close to that. No more putting contact lenses in and out of your eyes. No more worrying about staying up late at night, wondering if you have been wearing your contact lenses for too long. You can go to bed falling asleep watching television, without being uncomfortable with your glasses on. And when you wake up in the morning you don't have to reach for your glasses and squint to see the clock radio."
"The procedure itself is very simple. From start to finish it takes about 10 minutes. Best of all the procedure is basically painless...Before the surgery, one of the technicians asked me to look at the clock on the wall and tell her what time it was. The clock was only ten or fifteen feet away, but I couldn't tell at all. Ten minutes later, after the surgery was over, I sat up in the chair and was asked the same question. I could see clear as day it was 12:50. For me, LASIK has proven to be a great option to wearing contacts and/or glasses.

Dear Dr. Concool:
I am writing to thank you from the bottom of my heart for LASIK Eye Surgery that you performed on me on the 28th of January 2005. I want to thank you, and your wonderful staff that made the process relaxing and easy. Every time I go to your office your professional staff is always friendly and very attentive to patient care. I think the best way for me to thank you is to share this letter with all the people that want to have LASIK Surgery. My personal opinion is that this is a safe procedure with a quick recovery. I am especially thankful for having a great doctor such as Dr. Barry Concool. I am 43 years old, and I have been wearing glasses since the age of 21. I can now kiss my glasses goodbye. My eternal gratitude and deepest respect goes out to Dr. Concool and his wonderful staff in Las Olas Blvd. Again, I thank you for giving me my vision back.
With my deepest respect,

As a professional in eye care, I have been exposed to information on the various refractive procedures that were being developed. I have shared with all my patients the many benefits of LASIK. Patients who had LASIK would come back to me and tell me what a wonderful experience they had and how great it was to see without glasses or contacts. Finally, after relying on contact lenses and glasses for over 25 years, in May 1999 I made one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make, it was time for me to change my life and have LASIK. It took me many years to decide to have the surgery but what made the decision a little easier for me is that I knew the surgeon who I wanted to perform my LASIK, Dr. Barry Concool. He is the only surgeon I would trust for my patients and myself. The day after the procedure I was able to return to my office and see patients. My patients ask me how I would describe my vision after LASIK and I explain to them “ the best day with your contacts is every day with LASIK”.
